Illegal sand mining in Chambal

Illegal gravel mining is going on in the Chambal river at an extensive level in the nearby areas of Kota. Dozens of boats are doing the illegal mining work regularly at Rangpur and Keshoraipatan of Bundi.

The gravel is being supplied further using tractors and trucks by the mining mafias. The administration is aware of the illegal work but they do not take any actions against it.

Speaking on the issue, Chief Forest Conservator Anil Kapoor said that you can see the looting of natural treasury is going on at such a large level and the department is not aware of it. Thee nature, mountains, rivers, trees, waterfalls can sometimes lead to a tragedy like Kedarnath. How long will we continue to exploit these natural resources illegally.
