The Industries department has been striving hard to meet the target of employment generation schemes of state and central governments. The district centers have been asked to fulfill the targets of the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme of central government and Bhamashah Rojgar Srajan Yojna of state by December 31. Industry secretary of Rajasthan issued the directions during a video conference with the district centers on Tuesday.
“The officials were warned that any negligence in the employment programmes will be strictly dealt with,” said an officer at the industries department. The department has also ordered the centers to establish collective responsibility of officials for due implementation of the employment generation programmes. The officials have also been instructed to prepare draft of cluster development by end of this month.
Employment generation has been a major topic of political debate in Rajasthan headed for assembly elections. The figures of employment generation being claimed by government remain ‘unbelievable’ for the opposition. The employment generation though mostly remains dependent on the policies of Industry department by facilitating the existing trade and establishment of new industries. The department officials are trying to achieve the best possible results under limit of time and restrictions of model code of conduct.
It is thus that the ongoing schemes are being added impetus and the district centers have been in core of the process. At the video conference on Tuesday officials were also instructed for time-bound implementation of these schemes and programmes. The department with a view to promoting more of micro, small and medium scale industries has recently instructed for establishment of MSME facilitation units at all district centers. These facilitation units are envisaged to provide at a single source all information and support for government schemes.
